how to get

Zanzibar has an international airport with airlines like Kenya Airways providing direct international connections on a scheduled basis. From Europe, the principal carrier to Zanzibar is Kenya Airways stopping over at Nairobi.

Numerous airlines including British Airways, Swiss Air, and KLM fly to Dar-es-Salaam, from where you can catch connections to Zanzibar easily using local airlines,
air charters and by ferry.

From South Africa, South African Airlines now flies twice weekly direct from Johannesburg to Zanzibar, and though it’s partnership with Air Tanzania, is able to offer many more connecting routes.

KLM also flies into Kilimanjaro, from where domestic flights to Zanzibar can be arranged.

The Palms would be happy to make the domestic arrangements such as domestic flights to and from Dar es Salaam and Arusha.

An airport tax of USD 25 is charged on departure. Keep small denomination notes ready, as dollar change may not be readily available. Airport departure tax for domestic flights is 7,000 TShs.

For guests arriving into Dar es Salaam, the option of a ferry is also available, although the domestic flights are much more convenient and time efficient. The Palms would be happy to make the ticket bookings for the ferries.
